Director of Sales (Stock Yards)

  • Develop annual sales plan and programs. Manage annual sales plan in support of organizational objectives.
  • Compile sales data, deliver business reviews, handles customer education and present industry reports and trends.
  • Assist site leader to develop sourcing strategies and direct associates to execute the plan.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to improve performance and business effectiveness.
  • Leadership and attendance at General Sales Meeting.
  • Oversee all request for deviated pricing to ensure maximum gross profit.
  • Collaborate with Operations on distribution, logistics, and timing.
  • Track results in all areas of sales, cost and margins.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key customers at regional and corporate levels.
  • Travel as needed to customers and other US Foods locations.
  • Host customer tours and TM trainings.

Education/Training:

Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration and/or Marketing or related field or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree preferred.


Related Experience/Requirements:

Minimum of eight years in sales or sales management with at least five years in supervisory role.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation ability.  Strong customer orientation. High energy, creativity, leadership and motivational skills. Extensive knowledge of the foodservice industry and profit & loss management, planning and analysis. Knowledge of protein industry is helpful in the development and understanding of account needs. Should be familiar with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Leadership Skills: able to motivate others and communicate common vision with assortment of individuals.
